This spectacular Leaf House was designed by Mareines + Patalano Arquitetura, located in Angra dos Reis, close to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This original looking beach home is covered by a giant leaf-shaped roof that isolates the building: "The roof protects from the hot sun all the enclosed spaces of the house as the in-between open spaces. The heights of these spaces which varies from 3 to 9 meters, allow the SE trade winds from the sea to pass perfectly longitudinally trough the building, providing natural ventilation and and passive cooling both to the enclosed and open spaces.

Contemporary House Design in Madrid by A-Cero Architects Posted: 06 Jul 2011 06:30 AM PDT Located in The La Finca estate in the town Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid), this contemporary house property is set perfectly, was designed by A-cero architecture studio. he façade of the house is made of travertine marble which is combined with dark grey granite in several areas, as in the vertical plane of the main façade. White has the main role in the building (in interiors and exteriors). Moreover, it has floor-to-ceiling windows bring in ample natural light and vitality. In the exterior area of the home there is a barbecue and a spectacular bar designed by A-cero besides a exterior swimming pool (with jacuzzi). The basement contains a gym, a cinema room, wine vault, and the garage.  House furniture has been designed by A-cero with top quality materials. The result is modern, clean, concise, and providing both the warmth of a home.
