From Marie Iannotti, your Guide to Gardening

Isn't it amazing how much you can spend on seeds without realizing it? Those little packets really add up. It makes sense, if you're going to grow multiple plants, but there always seem to be too many seeds, don't there. One of the tips for Gardening on the Cheap Side is to pool your resources with friends and share not just seeds, but plants, too. Buy one huge hosta and divide it 3--4 ways. There are plenty more suggestions for saving some real money and still having a great garden. If you have some tips, please, please do share.

Gardening Tip of the Week

Thank you to everyone who has shared a tip. Keep them coming!

The February/March Garden Photo Challenge, Houseplants is getting colorful. Now that the sun has decided to shine again - on occasion - your plants must be preening. Let's see what's growing in your home.s

Question of the Week: As soon as the ground is able to be worked. Huh?
You've read it a million times, but how do you know the ground is ready to work? When it thaws. While it's wet? When it warms? Here's a simple crumble test... Read more

Favorite Plants: Radishes
Radishes appear so unassuming, we barely notice them. In other parts of the world radishes are used on pizzas and curries, they're grilled or eaten as snacks and some even grow giant, hearty winter radishes to cellar and enjoy during the colder months. Expand your radish options.... Read more

Talk of the Garden
I am truly, truly jealous of all of you who are out in your gardens. But I know spring will come for me too, and I'm learning a lot from the Forum give and take.
