Who's That Cat in the Mirror?

Several years ago while touring several animal shelters, one of the kitties spent the night in my hotel room so we could make an "adopt this cat" TV appearance early the next morning. He had a bad reaction to the mirror. After one glimpse of his reflection, he immediately self-inflated, hissed, and drew back his ears--cat language for !@#$%^&*!!!--then hid under the bed. . . learn more about cats' mirror reactions

Ask Amy: Hungry Cat Begging

Lynn writes "From the land of Cincinnati Screaming Cats" about her cats Moggie (age 7) and Gatto (age 6) who were adopted a year ago, and seen by the vet about six weeks ago. "They constantly stand by their bowls crying for food," she says.

Moggie and Gatto are both overweight and eating vet-prescribed foods, but are unhappy with the limits. Amy shares tips for encouraging them to "work for their food," to make their diet easier.

Ask Amy: How Can I Train my Cat to a Collar?

Ellen's cat, Sampson, apparently has some "Fraidy Cat" genes, as he is skittish of strange noises and people he doesn't know. Ellen would love to train him to walk on a leash, but hasn't been successful training him to a collar.

Amy has outlined a four-part training schedule, reminding Ellen that it will take baby-paw steps to accomplish her goal.

Cat Sex: How to Fix Cat Sex Behavior Problems
