Environmentally Friendly Architecture for The Future Home Design by Coates Design Posted: 01 Jun 2011 10:53 PM PDT With the concept : Aesthetically Conscious and Environmentally Friendly Architecture, this cool cliff house design in Bainbridge Island, Washington is a inspiration for those who looking for modern architecture with sustainability issues. The Ellis Residence by Coates Design was intended to inspire home owners and designers to think outside the box, setting an example for the future home design. Set atop Yeomalt Bluff, the house enjoys 180-degree vistas of Puget Sound and the Seattle skyline from its cliff-top spot. The natural surroundings clearly play a role in the home's organic look. Natural stone, wood and glass put the home in limbo between earthy and modern. But there is another environmentally friendly level to the design. This LEED Platinum home is actually a deconstruction and reconstruction of an existing house, with 80% of its materials being recycled/reused. The house includes a multitude of eco-sustainable features, like geothermal and photovoltaic systems, solar hot water and advanced heat-recovery technologies, all contributing to the reduction of energy consumption by 70%. Also designed rainwater recycling provides for irrigation of the native plantings in the yard and rooftop garden.

Traditional House Design with Modern Life Style by Erginoglu & Calislar Architects Posted: 01 Jun 2011 07:54 PM PDT House "Ö" is located in Yal?kavak, one of Bodrum's popular holiday districts, Turkey. House "Ö" is designed by Erginoglu & Calislar Architects aims to give its owners a modern life style but keeping the style of the area. Outside it looks like the house designed in traditional side but inside everything corresponds to modern needs. The home using intelligent interior design and appropriate furniture, distinct living areas are created within an open 'whole'. The living room with fireplace is on the mid level connecting private and service areas. The kitchen is open plan on the ground floor and the bedroom is upstairs. Swimming pool separates the neatly building from the garden and raw rocks outside the site. The absence of walls which usually separate living areas and large windows with spectacular surrounding views add the feeling of transparency to the house.
